Florida Man Claiming Self Defense After Blowing Himself Up
PENSACOLA, FL - Under Florida’s controversial stand your ground law, Tom Hendricks, states that he was simply acting in self defense when Cheri Williams swerved into his lane on Monday morning.
Both cars were traveling Northbound on I-95 when Cheri Williams says she felt and heard a massive explosion inches away from her car. She said she looked to her side and saw the car next to her had been engulfed in flames.
Law enforcement has since identified the explosion was caused by a series of C4 bundles strapped to the undercarriage of Mr. Hendricks Ford Explorer which he detonated via a button implanted in his dashboard labeled “Here Comes The Boom”. He stated when he saw Mrs. Williams’ car enter his lane, he panicked for his life, and knew he didn’t have time to draw his firearm.
Mr. Hendricks was transported to Jackson Hospital with life threatening third degree burns, and is now in critical condition. A Go-Fund-Me was created to help pay for Mr. Hendricks medical expenses and it has been linked below.
